MCCSC board approves administrator appointments and several long‑service retirements

President Hennessy moved and Ross seconded the personnel and additional personnel reports, which the board approved by voice vote.
Dr. Henderson presented the personnel details. The board approved the appointment of Sarah Ratzberg as assistant principal of Jackson Creek Middle School. Jacqueline K. Spear will move to a split assistant principal role between Highland Park Elementary and Templeton Elementary. The board also noted that Mr. Eric Gopin will add school safety administrator duties in addition to his role as director of secondary education.
The board accepted certified staff retirements for Clara Garcia Aguilera, a Spanish teacher at Bloomington High School North with 19 years of service, and Jenna Kerr, a family and consumer sciences teacher at Bloomington High School South with 37 years. Support staff retirements included Ricky Ayers, supervisory technician in information services with 30 years, and Nathan Covey, supervisory 4 at the Extended Services Building with 41 years. Dr. Henderson said the retirees represent a combined total of 127 years of service to MCCSC.
President Hennessy called for the vote; trustees signified assent by saying “aye” and the motion carried.
