Council members noted clearer language around strategy, infrastructure oversight and economic development responsibilities. Staff said the position posting would be advertised on municipal league websites, regional outlets and local channels; applications were open with a closing date referenced (applications accepted through July 21) and staff reported five applicants thus far.
A council member moved to accept the updated job description and the motion carried by voice vote. The council directed staff to post the draft position description on the city website and external job boards and to report back on applicant activity.
