The Daggett County Commission approved a request for proposals (RFP) for fabrication of county welcome signs and agreed to open bids on March 4 if the RFP is issued as presented.
Staff reported the signs are already designed and that the fabrication RFP calls for delivery by April 11 so installation can be completed before the summer season; installation may be performed by the county road department if capacity allows or by a separate installation RFP. One sign located near the highway had to be reduced from the planned 8 feet to 6 feet wide to fit within right-of-way constraints and will likely require a breakaway base.
Commissioners and staff discussed keeping uniform block lettering across county and municipal signs while allowing a small area for local logos or architectural features. Staff also thanked partners who assisted with right-of-way measurements. A motion to approve the fabrication RFP passed by voice vote.
