The Johnston City Council approved Resolution 25-38 to adopt plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of costs and to enter into contract for the Ridgetale Heights park project.
City staff reported that plans include a 10-foot trail around the park, playground rubberized surfacing subbase, a shelter and related site work. Nine bids were opened on Jan. 28; the low bidder was identified as Concrete Connection at $148,500, about $20,000–$40,000 under the amount budgeted. Staff recommended award and said a subsequent change order could add a basketball court if additional funding is available.
Council voted to approve the resolution and to proceed with contracting to begin work at Ridgetale Heights.
