Lease renewal: The board approved a renewal of AdventHealth’s lease for Suite 3 in a county-owned facility. County staff said the lease had been updated to match current tenant rates and includes a rent escalator; AdventHealth’s legal counsel reviewed the agreement.
Conference delegates: Commissioners named a voting delegate and alternates for the Kansas Association of Counties (KAC) annual conference and related KAC committee meetings, following standard practice for representation at the December conference.
Lot split/rezoning: The board approved an application to create a 4-acre lot from a 42-acre parcel at 3058 Kingman Road (application 250900544). The new 4-acre parcel will be rezoned to R-3A and the remaining 39.26 acres to A-2. Planning staff and the planning commission recommended approval and commissioners approved the request.
Time capsule / holiday event: County staff described a proposed Time Capsule event and courthouse holiday celebration for Dec. 4, including opening an existing time capsule, creating a new one, courthouse decorations and school outreach. Staff estimated the celebration’s cost at roughly $3,000 and said the expense would be covered using transient guest tax funds under staff spending authority.
Other updates: The sheriff’s office noted the election canvas is scheduled for the Wednesday after the meeting and will proceed immediately after the commission meeting. Commissioners provided brief community updates including local development activity, a ribbon-cutting for a new tire and service business, and Veterans Day event notices.
