Cheryl Busch, manager of aviation, told commissioners the Michigan Department of Transportation awarded a state-funded grant of $166,000 to Oakland County International Airport to repair pavement cracks and joints and to refresh pavement markings on runways and taxiways.
Busch said the project is a maintenance activity that will be completed before the end of the month. She also noted airport controllers have continued to staff the Pontiac Tower during an ongoing payroll/contract concern and praised the controllers' cohesion in maintaining operations.
The committee voted to accept the grant and forward the acceptance to the full board.
