Council introduced Ordinance 2025‑43, amending city code to add fees and operating procedures for an 80‑niche columbarium to be placed in the municipal cemetery. The ordinance includes niche pricing, engraving rules and a first‑20 purchaser discount; city staff said price tables and rules will be available at city hall when finalized.
The council recorded a roll call on Ordinance 2025‑43: Councilwoman Wright, Councilman Lindsay, Vice Mayor Eggleston, Mayor Cook, Councilman Bond and Councilman Channing all voted "yes" on the measure as introduced and acted on during the meeting.
Council also introduced Ordinance 2025‑44 authorizing the purchase of a 2026 medic unit; the ordinance was introduced with a public hearing and action scheduled for Nov. 17. The clerk announced city offices will be closed Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.
Council members asked staff to circulate the ordinance text and pricing table to the public and confirmed the city will take initial orders for the first 20 niches at a discounted rate once the ordinance and fee schedule are established.
