Riverton council approves fiscal-year amendment to shift project fund sources

Riverton City Council voted unanimously to approve Resolution 25-09, a fiscal-year budget amendment that corrects fund sources and shifts a planned bocce-ball project to park impact fees.
The amendment moved costs that should be borne by secondary water from the culinary fund into the secondary-water fund, city finance staff said. Staff also proposed using park impact fees rather than general CIP funds for a bocce facility identified in the capital plan.
Council members framed the vote as a housekeeping step to align expenses with the restrictions attached to each fund. "Thank you for being proactive and looking for ways to be able to utilize these funds appropriately," Council member Perucci said prior to the vote.
Vote: The resolution passed on a roll-call vote with every council member voting in favor. The clerk recorded the following affirmative votes: Council member McKay; Council member Barroker; Council member Hammond; Council member McDougall; Council member Perucci (others on the dais also announced "yes").
Effect: Staff said the changes reassign existing budget authority and use already-budgeted impact fee and enterprise dollars; they do not add new projects or raise taxes. The council approved the amendment during the regular meeting following a brief public hearing with no public testimony.
