Donna Bebout, La Verne’s library director, told the board the library would remain closed through Saturday, Nov. 8 and reopen Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, with reduced hours and services. "The library will reopen on Monday, 11/10/2025. The hours will be 9AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday," Bebout said.
Bebout said staffing had rotated during the closure to empty book drops, clean and assist patrons at the drive-up window with faxing, copies and the driver-license kiosk. She emphasized there would be no patron computers available and staff computers would be limited, so staff would not be able to check in or check out items; regular story times would be suspended until further notice.
The director outlined upcoming library programming and community events: a final community workshop Nov. 7, a Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. in the boardroom, and a family "turkey trot" story time and craft event planned for Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. Bebout also noted a staff anniversary: she marked 20 years with the city.
Board members thanked library staff for adapting during the closure and noted community support and volunteer assistance during events. No formal action was taken; the report was informational.
