The Corinth City Council unanimously approved an interlocal cooperative agreement with the city of Lake Dallas to provide scheduled law-enforcement services for reimbursement and authorized the city manager to execute the necessary documents.
Chief Mitchell told the council Corinth had provided assistance to Lake Dallas on at least four prior occasions during staffing transitions and that Lake Dallas asked for a more formal arrangement to supply one scheduled officer (often to provide relief so local officers can take time off). Chief Mitchell described the ILA’s proposed billing structure as an hourly rate that reflects total FTE cost: $64 (an average overtime rate across officer ranks) plus approximately $22 for benefits and related costs. The council’s approving motion specified an $86-per-hour rate and authorized the city manager to sign the agreement.
Chief Mitchell said the initial term is one year with automatic renewal options; he also said he expected the arrangement to be short-term while Lake Dallas recruits and trains officers. The agreement covers scheduled coverage (for example a 6 p.m.–6 a.m. shift) rather than ad hoc mutual-aid emergency responses, which Corinth would still provide under mutual-aid protocols.
