Greer corrects and approves abandoned‑building certification for property in council packet

Reno Deaton told council that Resolution 16‑2025 corrects typographical errors in an abandoned‑building certification the council previously approved in February, including correcting a county name and changing language from “may be abandoned” to “is abandoned.”
Deaton said staff had consulted with the city attorney and that the affidavit supporting the certification is “one of the strongest that we’ve seen” for such requests. He asked council to receive the resolution; councilors moved, seconded and voted in favor.
The resolution was presented as an administrative correction and staff recommended adoption. Council approved the item during the Aug. 12 meeting.
