The Fredericksburg Independent School District Board of Trustees on June 23 considered the district's proposed 20251026 budget for the General Fund (Fund 199), School Nutrition Fund (Fund 240) and Debt Service Fund (Fund 599). Administration recommended adopting the budget as presented; the agenda packet and Board Action Item Sheet note the tax rate in the budget is an estimate and will not be adopted until certified property values are provided and the Texas Education Agency informs districts of the M&O rate they may adopt.
Board materials stated the budget reflects work at campus and department levels and followed two budget workshops, including one on June 5, 2025. The packet also included a recommended commitment of portions of the General Fund balance under GASB 54; the Board Action Item Sheet characterizes a —commitment— as a board action earmarking fund balance for bona fide purposes that require board approval to change.
The packet did not record a final vote or tally in the minutes provided. The recommended actions in the Board Action Item Sheets were: —) move to approve the 20251026 budget as presented; and 2) move to commit General Fund balance as presented. The materials note that the tax rate used in the budget is an estimate and will be finalized after certified values and TEA guidance are available (around August/September).
