Resident urges Warren to revisit outdoor-music enforcement after repeated noise from La Pinata

Kathleen Hancock told the council she and neighbors have endured recurring amplified outdoor live music at La Pinata (corner of Main and Crowe Streets) that she said regularly carries into homes during summer evenings.

Hancock said the current enforcement practice—measuring decibels from the sidewalk—does not capture the full impact because the restaurant’s recessed courtyard projects sound and bass vibrations into neighboring houses. She said residents were advised to call police each time, but repeated calls are an ineffective method of resolving a predictable seasonal problem. Hancock also said she received an unexpected voicemail from Lieutenant Mark of the Warren Police Department asking about her complaint.

Council President said staff will put the item on the September agenda for readdressing the La Pinata sound situation. Councilors and staff discussed the adequacy of measuring locations and enforcement practices. No regulatory action was taken at the meeting; the council scheduled the matter for follow-up review.
