Johnston County commissioners approve several board appointments, adopt meeting agenda

Flint Benson was reappointed to the Johnston County Board of Adjustment for a three-year term. John McConnell and Alan Puypenberg were appointed to three-year terms on the Board of Equalization and Review. Robert Ritchie was appointed to fill an unexpired term ending June 30, 2028. James Gathers Jr. was appointed to a two-year term on the Johnston-Lee-Harnett Community Action Board. Laura Link was appointed to fill an unexpired term on the Johnston Community College Board of Trustees (term end listed at the meeting as June 30, 2028).
The chair opened the evening session, read the appointment results and the board then took up approval of the published agenda. A commissioner moved to approve the agenda and another seconded; the chair called for a voice vote and the motion carried.
No contentious debate accompanied the appointment announcements. The minutes and formal personnel records will reflect the appointments and terms as recorded by county staff.
The board proceeded to scheduled presentations and staff updates following agenda approval.
