The Conroe City Council took the following recorded actions Oct. 9 (motions carried by voice vote unless noted):
- Payment to Montgomery County UD3 and UD4: Council approved a FY '26 purchase order and payment of $896,004.75 for capacity-reservation fees to Montgomery County UD3 and UD4, subject to receipt of an anticipated remittance of approximately $1,800,000 from those districts. Staff said the payment is subject to a post-audit adjustment in April; if the city overpays it will receive a refund and if it underpays it will remit the difference.
- Bond counsel engagement: The council awarded bond-counsel services to Maco, Parkhurst & Horton LLP following a requests-for-qualification process and committee evaluation.
- Financial advisory services: The council awarded a financial-advisory contract to Hilltop Securities after a competitive solicitation.
- Perimeter fence award (Oscar Johnson site): Council approved a bid award to install perimeter fencing at the Oscar Johnson site; the contract amount reported at the meeting was $154,004.45 and will be paid from the construction fund.
- Oscar Johnson enrichment and recreation center furniture: Council approved a one-time purchase of furniture (reported at roughly $322,000) to outfit the new facility; staff said funds would come from reserve funds with subsequent adjustments during budget process.
- Annexations: Council consented to annexation of 29.236 acres and 32.36 acres into Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 152A.
