Desi Kirkhaufer, filling in for the lead auditor from Daniel Jones and Associates, presented the district's 2023'4 audit and thanked district staff for timely cooperation. Kirkhaufer said the firm issued an unmodified opinion on the district's financial statements and an unmodified opinion on compliance with Missouri requirements for budgetary and disbursement procedures, attendance and transportation reporting. Because the district expended more than $750,000 in federal awards, the audit included a single-audit review; the auditor said the single audit also received an unmodified opinion and that there were no federal award findings to report.
Kirkhaufer said the district also received a management letter with standard disclosures the auditors are required to communicate. "We issued an unmodified opinion," Kirkhaufer told the board, summarizing the firm's conclusions.
After discussion, the board moved to approve the 2023'4 audit as presented; board members voted in favor and the motion carried.
