Railroad schedules work at Draper Street crossing after resident complaints; city coordinating closure and ADA checks

Henderson said the city received numerous resident reports about track condition; after community outreach the railroad reached out to schedule meetings and then submitted the permit and traffic control plan. He said the project will require temporarily closing the crossing for several days and that the railroad will place advance message boards to notify drivers.
City staff said they are coordinating timing to avoid large traffic disruptions, address sidewalk and ADA access issues on the city side and consider whether to extend repairs to the nearby Earl Street crossing. Henderson credited resident pressure for prompting rapid railroad action and said staff will provide advance public notices about any closures and detours.
