The Inter Neighborhood Council Organization's parade and festival subcommittee asked members to sign up neighborhoods and volunteers for a Storybook Christmas parade entry and related festival representation.
The committee said it needs at least 15 neighborhoods to participate, up to nine vehicles (classic/antique cars are preferred), and roughly 50 people to walk in the parade so each participating neighborhood can be represented. The subcommittee representative said vehicles must be decorated and show proof of insurance to be accepted.
The parade entry will follow a storybook theme; the subcommittee suggested reaching out to local car clubs and antique museums to recruit vehicles. Staging and arrival logistics were discussed: the parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, with participants expected to meet early for staging. The committee also plans limited INCO representation at the Tamale Festival and encouraged neighborhoods to recruit volunteers and walkers even if they cannot commit vehicles.
Questions from membership included whether neighborhood chairs needed a formal neighborhood vote to participate (the subcommittee said the choice was a chair-level decision to commit representation) and whether there was an entry costume or uniform (none decided; neighborhood hats and festive attire were suggested). The subcommittee volunteer asked that chairs confirm participation so organizers can submit the parade application.
