Serrano students, CTE staff outline regional awards, internships and industry partnerships

Juliet Flores, a Serrano High School student and Southern Region FFA officer, told the board she benefited from Serrano’s agriculture (FFA) program and urged trustees to promote the purchase of a California agricultural license plate; proceeds from the plate fund FFA programs statewide, she said.
Jennifer Connor and other CTE staff reported Serrano accomplishments: a drone team finished eighth nationally at SkillsUSA; a T‑shirt design student placed eighth nationally; 540 students earned community college articulation credits with Victor Valley College (the largest number in Serrano history); the program logged 836 industry‑recognized credentials, 109 mock interviews, 23 job internships and 732 simulated work‑based learning experiences last year. Staff detailed upcoming travel and industry visits, allied‑health partnerships with Victor Valley College, and active SkillsUSA and FFA participation.
CTE staff thanked district leaders for support and highlighted the program’s growing regional profile and student leadership development. Trustees and staff praised students and CTE leaders for the scope of activities and results.
