In his remarks, Fuentes thanked the board for their trust and said he had toured nutrition services, maintenance and operations, human resources and educational services during his first week. He described visits to EXL summer programs at Palm Canyon Theater and Raymond Cree and praised the programs— engagement in music, STEM and arts. He signaled plans to present a comprehensive entry report to the board in October after meeting with internal and external partners.
Board members welcomed Fuentes and expressed optimism about the coming year. The board also recognized Viviana Castro Rocha as the classified employee of the month; she thanked colleagues and family for support.
