Judge Stephanie Boyd of the 187th District Court sentenced Glenn Lorenzo White to five years in prison after accepting a no-contest plea in 2025 CR002709. The court announced an affirmative finding that a deadly weapon was used and an affirmative finding of family violence, and ordered no contact with the victim, Monique Gantt.
The plea and sentence followed the terms of a plea-bargain agreement the court read into the record, which set a punishment cap at six years and included a $1,500 fine. The judge confirmed the parties had reviewed the presentence investigation report before proceeding. State Prosecutor Rick Pena and defense counsel Rob Romant were listed as representing the parties on the record.
Judge Boyd recommended placement in a therapeutic community and reiterated standard post-conviction limits on rights, telling White, "Because this is a plea bargain agreement, because I followed your plea bargain agreement, and because you waived your right to appeal, you do not have the court's permission to appeal." The judge also reminded White that, because of the felony conviction and affirmative weapon finding, he is barred from owning or possessing weapons or ammunition.
The court credited White for any time served and directed defense counsel to advise the defendant about the legal limits on firearms ownership and the process for any legal questions. The record shows no objection from the parties to the court's disposition.
