At least one bid listed unit prices that staff called out as probably erroneous and said they would confirm the figures with the bidder.
Commission discussion focused on ensuring staff vetted bond documents, addenda acknowledgments and unusually large or small unit‑price entries before the county evaluates award options. A commissioner moved that the bids be returned to staff for additional analysis; the motion carried by voice vote.
"I make a motion that we'd send these bids back to staff for further analysis and recommendation," said a commissioner during the public session.
Staff said the next step will be a technical review of the lowest responsive bids, verification of unit prices and corrections to any typographical errors before the commission sees a formal recommendation to award a contract.
The county did not award or reject any bid at the meeting; commissioners only directed staff to complete the review and return with a recommendation and a corrected bid tabulation.
