Forsyth County to order three Chevy Equinox EVs for fleet under Sheriff's Association contract

Angel said staff solicited informal confirmation bids from two dealers who offered unit prices of $33,600, confirming the sheriff’s association contract price is competitive.
Chairman Martin noted a direct-pay rebate (an incentive) that would reduce the net cost by about $7,510 per vehicle, materially lowering the effective purchase price into the mid-$20,000 range, an item staff confirmed. Angel said the county will need to order the vehicles; delivery is about 14 weeks.
The EV purchase follows the board’s earlier approval of electric vehicle charging infrastructure at the Government Center and Health and Human Services campus. Commissioners did not record a formal vote in the briefing transcript; the item was presented for approval and procurement steps.
