Hermosa Beach City School District’s 2023–24 financial statements and the Measure S general obligation bond financial and performance audit received unmodified opinions from auditors Eide Bailly, the firm reported Jan. 8.
Anna Credelian, audit manager for Eide Bailly, told the board the firm issued an unmodified opinion on both the financial statements and state compliance — “the highest form of opinion we can issue” — and that there were no findings in this year’s audit. The bond fund audit similarly received an unmodified opinion and the auditors reviewed approximately 98% of bond fund expenditures as part of their performance audit.
Board members noted the improvement from prior years, when four findings were reported in the previous audit cycle. The clean audit report will be part of the district’s public record as staff continue planning for the Measure HV bond program and other fiscal matters.
