The Cobb County Planning Commission on Nov. 4 approved its consent agenda, advancing a rezoning recommendation for Roswell Lodge No. 165 and granting a 12‑month temporary land‑use permit renewal for equipment storage on a separate property.
Staff summarized the first consent item as a request to rezone a parcel on the south side of Sandy Plains Road west of Alabama Road from NRC to O&I to allow a noncommercial lodge and neighborhood retail uses. Staff recommended deletion of the NRC district and approval subject to six conditions, including limiting the use to clubs or lodges for this applicant, compliance with fire and stormwater comments, water and sewer and DOT recommendations, and a six‑foot solid privacy fence along residential zoning districts.
Jeff Barnes appeared for Roswell Lodge and the record showed no opposition. Staff also presented LEP‑45 (L. Frank Shirley), a temporary land‑use permit renewal for contractor equipment storage on Way Green Road north of Hickory Grove Road; staff recommended approval for 12 months with conditions that the property be kept clean and no more than 15 vehicles/equipment pieces be kept overnight. The applicant for LEP‑45 was not present and no one opposed.
The commission voted to approve the consent agenda, recorded as 3‑0. The items will proceed to the Board of Commissioners as applicable.
