The Brownsville mayor and board on Aug. 12 approved routine consent items and received a series of departmental reports.
The board approved the minutes from the July 8 meeting and the financial manager’s report (financial manager absent). Members also approved a parade permit for an event on Sept. 26 and heard from community development staff that the Anderson Avenue bid opening is scheduled for Aug. 26 at City Hall.
Officials highlighted the city’s back‑to‑school event, which organizers described as a large turnout; volunteers and staff were thanked.
