County accepts cannabis registration delegation from several townships and cities
Summary

County staff reminded commissioners that the county ordinance provided a path for townships and cities to delegate cannabis registration to the county. Staff said earlier outreach and a follow‑up memo clarified the mechanism for active delegation and asked the board to accept delegations the county had received to date.
The board accepted delegation of registration authority from the units of government listed in the record (including El Dorado Township, Cinnis Township, the City of Alberta, the City of Hancock, the City of Morris, Stevens Township and the City of Chokio — as received by staff) so the county can process registrations. Staff explained that after a local government delegates authority and the county accepts it, staff will process registration materials and bring individual business registrations back to the board for final approval.
