The City Council approved substantial amendments to its HUD annual action plans and reallocated Community Development Block Grant funds.
Housing staff reported that $552,940.25 in CDBG program‑year 2023‑24 funds will be reallocated to the Neighborhood Pride Program for program year 2024‑25. Staff also proposed reallocating $256,826.25 in legacy CDBG‑CV (Coronavirus) funds from program years 2019 and 2020 to the COVID‑related residential rehabilitation program.
The council opened and closed a public hearing on the amendments with no public testimony and adopted a resolution authorizing the reallocations and the plan amendments to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The council also authorized staff to proceed with programmatic allocation and administration through the city's existing CDBG processes.
Dwayne Cobb was introduced as the city's new housing analyst who will help administer the CDBG program.
The adopted reallocations move previously carried balances into active programs the staff said are ready to deliver services in the 2024‑25 program year.
