County operations staff told the board the change order responds to notes from reviewing agencies that required an increase in the size of the fire‑water sprinkler system. "To meet the requirements of the local jurisdictions, we're required to install that system, which is why that change order is before you," operations staff said.
A commissioner moved to approve Change Order No. 1; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. The board asked staff to confer after the motion on details of the change order.
No additional conditions were recorded. Procurement and operations staff will proceed with executing the change order as approved.
