The Madera County Groundwater Sustainability Agency board of directors approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Valley Water Collaborative to support domestic well water‑quality testing and replacement water supplies in the Delta‑Mendota Subbasin.
Stephanie (Water & Natural Resources) told the board the MOU applies only within the Delta‑Mendota Subbasin where local GSAs coordinate a domestic well mitigation program. She said the county GSA and the Delta‑Mendota domestic wells portion of the program make the MOU a required step and noted the county was the last of 23 GSAs in the subbasin to sign.
The board approved the MOU by roll call vote 5–0. No further action or funding was requested in this agenda item; staff said the agreement formalizes coordination on testing and replacement water supply mechanisms tied to the subbasin program.
