Johnston County on Nov. 3 adopted a resolution declaring the county’s official intent to reimburse expenditures for land purchased for the Johnston Community College West Campus from the proceeds of future debt.
Finance director Chad McLamb presented the resolution and said it allows the county to be reimbursed for land purchase costs that were paid from county funds when the county later issues debt to finance the project.
McLamb told the board the county will likely bring another reimbursement resolution later for amounts the county fronts for the Clayton High School project, and he emphasized the county’s strong fiscal position and AAA bond rating when discussing debt options.
The board voted to adopt the resolution by voice vote.
