Euclid City Council voted Sept. 2 to accept a county offer to partner on resurfacing the city’s portion of Dilley Road, authorizing the mayor or her designee to execute agreements necessary to receive up to $600,000 in county assistance for repaving, engineering, inspection and administration of the project (Ordinance 094-25).
Administration said the county plans to repave the Cleveland section and invited Euclid to join its scheduled 2029 construction so the project would be seamless between jurisdictions. The city does not yet have an engineer’s estimate for Euclid’s portion; the county’s funding would help cover repaving and related costs.
The ordinance passed under emergency suspension. Council members asked about the corporation-line limits of the city portion; staff said Euclid’s portion runs north of Euclid Avenue almost to the railroad tracks. The administration will return with engineering details and cost estimates as design work advances.
Next steps: Staff will coordinate with county engineers, refine design and cost estimates, and return to council with contract documents and a recommended funding plan for the municipal share of costs.
