Miss Bell presented the proposed academic calendar for the 2025-26 school year, explaining the district's goal to meet 75,600 instructional minutes. The calendar includes a fall break designed to align with neighboring districts, four district professional learning days, and four campus early-release days for additional professional learning.
Bell said the district solicited community input on the calendar and received 652 responses, with roughly 81% from parents and 18% from employees. Trustees asked whether spring break aligns with Dallas College; staff confirmed alignment with Dallas ISD and Dallas College.
Staff said they will return to the board in late February with the calendar on the consent or action agenda for adoption.
