The Lakeville Board of Health on Nov. 5 approved two new body‑art apprentice licenses for Tristan Escobar and Madison Riley at Savage Incorporated, 12 Harding Street.
Ed, the health agent, reported that Savage Inc. is an established business that had been inspected and that the apprentices had submitted required paperwork. "We probably will do an inspection soon because they have 2 new apprentices coming on," Ed said, noting that there were no outstanding pending items (18:02:11). Board discussion focused on workspace capacity: the shop has two chairs and two sinks, which limits how many practitioners may work simultaneously, and a licensed artist must be present to supervise apprentices. "With an apprentice, the one overseeing has to be there all the time," a board member said.
A motion to approve Tristan Escobar's apprentice license was made and seconded and passed by voice vote. The board then considered Madison Riley's application; staff again confirmed required materials and emphasized that the premises could accommodate two artists at a time. The board approved Riley's apprentice license by voice vote.
Board members noted they would follow up with an on‑site inspection to confirm workspace layout and that apprentices are not performing procedures except under supervision. The health department will schedule inspections as needed and will issue licenses after verifying compliance.
