The Fort Atkinson Plan Commission voted to recommend that the City Council approve a certified survey map (CSM 2025-12) for property at N 3093 County Road K in the city’s extraterritorial area and to waive the standard requirement to dedicate the adjacent roadway.
City staff explained the CSM combines an R-2 single-family lot with a neighboring A-1 parcel to the north. The applicant plans a large accessory building rather than an additional residential lot; the plan had previously cleared conditional-use review through the town and county. "It did go through county approvals for this, and it is just waiting approval from the city," a staff member said.
Staff said the site is near a floodplain but outside it and otherwise meets land-division requirements. Regarding roadway dedication, staff said they consulted the county surveyor and historic maps, which show an established public right-of-way. Based on that documentation, staff recommended waiving the formal dedication requirement on the CSM.
A motion to recommend council approval of the CSM and waive the roadway dedication requirement was made, seconded and carried by voice vote. The commission did not attach conditions beyond the waiver and recommendation noted in staff comments.
