The La Porte County Alcoholic Beverage Commission approved multiple automatic renewals and past meeting minutes during its Oct. 2 meetings for both Board 1 and Board 2.
On Board 1 the commission recommended renewal for a set of automatic renewals that included St. Joseph Young Men's Society (Franklin Street, Michigan City), John Franklin Miller Post 37 (East Highway 20, Michigan City), and several Family Express locations (including Highway 6 in Westville and multiple sites in Michigan City, Rolling Prairie and La Porte), plus Fiddlehead Restaurant and Creekside Bar and Grill. A motion to recommend renewal was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
Board 2 later convened and recommended renewal for additional Family Express locations (Pine Lake Avenue, J Street and East State Road 2 and a location on 400 South) and the Burger Bar and Grill on East Lincoln Way in La Porte. Board 2 also moved to approve the minutes of its September meeting and adjourned.
No speakers voiced opposition to the renewals; the items were handled as routine consent business and will be forwarded to the state as part of standard renewal processing.
