Commissioners back recommendation to designate Zook Home and Studio as local landmark

The Historic Preservation Commission voted unanimously Nov. 5 to approve findings and recommend local landmark designation for the Zook Home and Studio at Catherine Legum Memorial Park (case HPC‑17‑20255891).

Staff said the draft findings mirror what was included in the minutes and that the official findings, if approved by the commission, would be added to the ordinance packet already sent to the board for its consideration. "The attachment as such was not in your packets, but essentially, it's the same as what was in the minutes," staff told commissioners.

Commissioners discussed the report briefly and no substantive changes were raised. A motion to approve the case was made and seconded; the commission then held a roll-call vote. Commissioner Barclay, Commissioner Gonzales, Commissioner Harlow, Commissioner Olsen and Chairman Bonin each voted "aye," and the motion carried.
