The Sammamish City Council on Nov. 5 adopted updated 2025 hearing examiner rules of procedure that reflect changes in electronic filing and remote hearing practices. David Pyle of the Department of Community Development said the updates clarify e-filing, allow Zoom hearings and make minor adjustments to filing deadlines to reflect faster electronic transmission.
Pyle described the hearing examiner's role as an independent reviewer for appeals and noted the current examiner has served the city since 2002. He said the examiner adopted rules and transmitted them to the city for review; the council voted to approve the updates as presented. The motion was moved, seconded and carried on the record.
