Board adopts Hanch 41 map amendment to central urban to encourage mixed-use development on 19.36 acres near Del Prado

Lindsay Chesky of the county planning section introduced a small-scale comprehensive plan amendment (Hanch 41, CPA 2025-000001) requesting redesignation of a 19.36-acre property from Suburban to Central Urban future land use. Staff said the Central Urban designation is intended for locations with the greatest range and highest levels of public services and that the subject parcel has adequate facilities and lies within a commercial corridor overlay. Staff and the Local Planning Agency recommended approval.
No public comment was recorded at the LPA hearing, and no public speakers were called at the board hearing. A motion to approve staff and LPA recommendations was moved, seconded and carried unanimously. The action supports the applicant's companion rezoning application and is intended to encourage compact mixed-use development appropriate to the commercial corridor.
