Community ‘Giving Machine’ to be installed at Meadow Barn Nov. 18–Dec. 2, city staff says

Representatives thanked the city for permitting a Giving Machine at the Meadow Barn for the holiday season and described how residents can donate to local charities through the interactive installation.
Presenters said the Giving Machine will be available Nov. 18–Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. A VIP launch event is scheduled Nov. 18 with a 4:30–5:30 p.m. light dinner and a 5:30–6:30 p.m. program; Mayor Leach will participate in remarks and a ribbon-cutting portion of the program. Staff said most charities featured are local, with two statewide organizations included and some global charities also listed on the machine.
The presentation described sample donation items the machine can distribute or fund, including books, veteran flags, grave wreaths, children’s clothing, sports-physical fees, holiday meals, a month of electricity or heat, bedding, and even livestock in some program categories. Staff said volunteers and on-site attendants will staff the machine daily to assist visitors and explain the donation process.
Council members thanked the presenters and encouraged community participation; no formal council action was required.
