Council voted Nov. 5 to award a contract to Lyons Recreation for the design, fabrication and installation of park pavilions — two at Elmwood Park and one at MLK Park. The work is funded with ARPA dollars set aside in a prior year for park improvements; the contract award amount reported at the meeting was $314,670.
Parks staff said the award covers the pavilion structures. Funding has also been set aside for complementary site furnishings including picnic tables, benches and grills. Council asked for a project timeline and staff confirmed the contractor will provide a schedule after contract award; staff said they expect construction to be complete in time for public use next summer.
Council approved the resolution by roll call.
