Town staff told the council Nov. 6 that the Waterline Capital Project Fund has been established and that checks and administrative setup are in place to begin work on the waterline project. Deliveries of large components for the water tower have arrived on site and, once the specialist crews are present with a crane, staff said the tower can be raised quickly.
A council member reported that trucking and scheduling have delayed some deliveries, but that steel is en route from Nebraska and that the crews who erect these towers typically complete the lift quickly once the pieces are on site. Staff provided an estimated arrival window for the steel of Nov. 22; they cautioned that arrival and erection schedules depend on specialized transport and crane availability.
Officials noted that residents adjacent to the new main will be invited to connect to the municipal supply on a voluntary basis; hookups will only be required for new development or if a private well fails. The council also noted the town has created a Waterline Capital Project Fund and established banking arrangements so invoice payment can begin as construction bills arrive.
Ending: Staff announced a public drop-in on Nov. 13 (4:30–6:30 PM at town hall) for residents to ask questions about the new waterline and voluntary hookup process; council members encouraged residents to watch for construction updates and a public notice when tower-raising activity is scheduled.
