The hotel application was discussed as a companion item to the gas station; board members said they wanted a clearer conceptual site plan showing how multiple uses would be arranged and how access, buffers, lighting, and stormwater would be handled before making the findings required by city code.
Eric McLaughlin, attorney for the applicant, adopted the Department of Planning staff report and asked the board to consider the hotel application together with the other pending land-use requests. Public commenters raised compatibility concerns about the scale and proximity of commercial uses to long-established residential areas, questioned whether additional traffic or utility improvements would be required, and asked for independent reviews on noise and groundwater risk. Planning staff indicated the board's written list of required materials would be circulated and that the cases would be re-noticed once the applicant submits the requested information.
The motion to table and carry the hotel application to the same future hearing as the gas station carried on the board's vote.
