At its Sept. 8 meeting the Groves City Council recorded these formal actions and votes:
• Approval of minutes (Aug. 18, 2025 special meeting): Motion to approve the minutes was made and seconded; recorded voice votes indicated the motion carried with the mayor and council members voting aye.
• Approval of minutes (Aug. 25, 2025 meeting and public hearing): Motion and second recorded; council voted aye and the motion passed.
• Invoice list (Sept. 8, 2025): City staff presented an invoice list totaling $163,328.66 with line items including P‑card payments ($15,004.21), vehicle leases ($12,112.32), SCBA equipment and testing ($7,004.89), chlorine for the water plant ($6,861.60), fleet fuel ($14,334.19), and two pump repairs from Zone Industries ($38,160.00 and $68,950.00). Council approved the invoice list by voice vote (Mayor aye; Mayor Pro Tem and council members recorded as aye on the roll).
• Retain law firm — Lloyd Gosling, PC (Item 14): Council authorized the city manager to execute documents to retain Lloyd Gosling, PC to consult with the city on a matter involving the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Motion passed by recorded voice votes (Mayor aye; Council members Holmes and Gay recorded aye; motion passed).
