The Highland Village Planning and Zoning Commission on Oct. 21 recommended that the city council approve the final plat and tree mitigation plan for the Magnolia Village subdivision, a 4.351-plus-acre tract generally located at 102 Barnett Boulevard.
Community Development Coordinator Autumn Ammon told the commission the final plat is the last step in the review process and generally matches the preliminary plat that city council approved Sept. 9, 2025. The application shows 25 residential patio-home lots, sidewalks within the development and along Barnett Boulevard, and street names. The tree mitigation plan shows trees retained along the western property line and the removal of others; the city engineer and staff reviewed the drainage, utilities and tree plan and found the application complies with subdivision regulations and the PD ordinance.
A commissioner moved to recommend city council approve the final plat and tree mitigation plan as submitted; the motion was seconded and the commission voted in favor. With council approval, the plat will become the permanent record of the property and allow the developer to begin site work.
