The Community Development Corporation agreed to conduct its fall trail tour using golf carts to get closer access to trails and to observe connectivity during school dismissal. Members said a golf-cart tour allows closer inspection than a van tour and that police coordination and golf-cart ordering logistics would be handled by staff.
The board initially discussed November 4, then noted that schools would be closed on election day and moved the tour to November 10 so the group could observe student travel patterns near schools. The agreed start time is 3:30 p.m., with the tour expected to run roughly two hours and to focus on west-side connections, City Trail segments, Briar Hill and the FM 2499 corridor.
Staff will order golf carts (with headlights as a contingency), coordinate with police for trail access, and send a calendar invite to board members. Members asked staff to prioritize segments that show school dismissal activity and connectivity gaps.
