The Groves City Council voted Oct. 13 to award auditing services to Brooks Watson & Company after receiving the results of a request for proposals and a review by an audit committee.
Staff said three firms responded to the RFP and the committee met Oct. 1 to evaluate proposals. The committee recommended Brooks Watson based on firm size, experience serving local governments, recent peer reviews and adequate staffing to serve the city. Council confirmed a three-year contract with two mutual one-year options and authorized the city manager to negotiate and execute all necessary documents.
The motion passed on the record and council members who voted in favor included the mayor and a quorum of councilmembers; staff said pricing was within the expected range and Brooks Watson was neither the highest nor the lowest bidder.
