MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Monongalia County Commission unanimously adopted a proclamation Nov. 5 recognizing November 2025 as National Hospice and Palliative Care Month.
The proclamation, read by County Office Manager Colleen, described hospice and palliative care as holistic, team-based services that support patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families, and cited national Medicare usage statistics included in the read text. The proclamation named West Virginia Caring (formerly Hospice Care Corporation) and listed counties in its service area, including Monongalia.
Commissioners moved and seconded adoption and recorded unanimous "aye" votes. Several commissioners later offered brief personal remarks praising hospice services and urging community recognition.
