During the city manager’s report on Nov. 9, staff highlighted an array of recent and near-term improvements at Stephenson Park, including new shade canopies at the splash pad, drainage work along the trail system, new lighting at the park entry and installation of a large walk-through Christmas tree planned for the week of Thanksgiving.
The city manager also announced that the city received a "Top Workplaces" designation for 2025 based on anonymous employee surveys. He then recognized Gary Williams, assistant director of Parks and Recreation, who announced his retirement after more than 24 years with the city. Williams thanked council and staff; councilmembers praised his service and staff contributions to park maintenance and programming.
No council action was required; the announcements were part of the manager’s report and recognition agenda.
