Board approves 4‑acre lot split and rezoning east of Ottawa

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners voted Nov. 5 to approve application 250900544 to create a 4‑acre lot from a 42‑acre parcel commonly known as 3058 Kingman Road, located about 2 miles east of Ottawa.
Staff explained the new 4‑acre lot will be rezoned to AR‑3 while the remaining 39.26 acres will be rezoned A‑2; the existing residence on the 4‑acre parcel is served by rural water and septic. The barn will remain with the larger parcel. Planning staff and the planning commission recommended approval and the board voted to approve the request; no significant public comment was reported at the meeting.
A motion to approve the lot split and rezoning was seconded and the board recorded affirmative votes.
Any site development, septic approvals or building permits required for the new lot remain subject to applicable county and state requirements.
